Kidney disease represents a growing global health crisis in the US and across the world. In the US for instance, over 1/4 of every dollar spent by MediCare is used for some type of kidney disease. I have seen this firsthand and have devoted my career to finding ways to reverse this trend. NephroSant is essentially the cumulation of years of research and studies at Stanford and UCSF looking at ways to better predict and prevent the progression of kidney disease. Studying urine, as opposed to other types of samples, is ideal as it comes directly from the kidney and allows a unique view into the health and potential damage of the organ. By better understanding what is actually happening within the kidney during different stages of disease we can cater our approach to limiting and hopefully reversing kidney disease in all forms. This is the vision of NephroSant.
